In your child’s first years, their brain constructs an intricate neural network at a staggering pace of up to 1 million new connections per second.

Because while synapses form easily in these early years, only the right stimulation turns them into lifelong gifts. Let's build something extraordinary together. The most important construction project of your life is already underway - in your child's growing mind.

As the child continues to grow, these connections will either become stronger or they will be “trimmed” away. This process of trimming away the unutilized connection is called synapse pruning.

Here’s an easy way to think about it: Imagine an orange tree. Branches that bear fruit will be given more nutrients to grow stronger while branches that do not bear fruit will be pruned off so that resources can be allocated to other branches. That’s what happens with the synapses in the child’s brain.

During this same critical period synaptic pruning process streamlines the child’s neural processing, so the child can learn much faster, easier and with greater depth.

And the more they learn, the stronger the connections become. Eventually, these connections will become “locked” in the brain.

Now, here’s where it gets important:
Normally, the brain will prune away many connections selectively on its own. It automatically chooses which to keep and which to “cut away”.

So some parts of the child’s brain will be more developed, while other parts will be less. This is why we always meet people who may be very proficient in some skills, but lacking in some other areas. For example, an academically inclined student might be good in her studies but she may be socially awkward. Or an athletic student might be great at sports, but struggle to understand mathematical concepts well.

However, in recent years, neuroscientists have discovered that there are certain ways to signal to the brain to keep all these important connections.

And the most effective way is by “activating” the whole brain when the child is still 0-6 years old. When certain parts of the brain are continuously being activated, it will signal to the brain that these connections are important, and it’s crucial not to prune them away.

It’s like telling the brain: “Keep all these connections!”

So activating the whole brain is very important for your child’s development!
